Advice: 10 Pounds to Lose is the Power of the Mind!
You may have 10 pounds to lose and you’re just starting your fat loss program, or it may be the last 10 pounds to lose from months or years of constant work. The last 10 pounds are the easiest ones to lose and let me tell you how.
One critical thing when trying for the last 10 pounds to lose is the power of the mind. First of all, don’t “try” to lose the last 10 pounds, but rather do it. Know that it is going to happen and expect it to happen. Simple enough to say, but it is true. When we get to the last 10 pounds to lose, we begin to coast and ease up on our training and commitment, but I’m telling you to do exactly the opposite. This is the time to push forward and pick up speed, and be every more diligent in your choices. For more details you can visit at www.auto-cons.com. You must know in your mind that the last 10 pounds to lose is the easiest part of the journey. Use the power of your mind to visualize success and yourself not only standing at the finish line having successfully achieved your goal, but even more so than that.. Visualize yourself picking up speed and running through the finish line. Your motto should be “there is nothing more powerful than a warrior running through the finish line”. Be a fat burning warrior.
If you have been on some sort of “last 10 pounds to lose” program, it’s likely included exercise. You are probably doing cardio like crazy. Well, you should be. If you have not been doing cardio, now is the time to start. If you have been, then now’s the time to kick it up a notch. The last 10 pounds to lose is as easy as increasing your output. Doubling your cardio to 6 times per week, or if you’ve already been doing that, then do a second cardio session in the evening for a twice a day cardio workout. Wow, that will really kick things into gear. One caveat: if you increase your output of exercise, you may also need to increase your calorie consumption a bit to match your bodies’ new need for food.
If everything is going well, you can take some time to finally clean up your diet. This means that the last 10 pounds to lose may require re-thinking your diet. Are you eating any condiments? Are you eating dairy products? Have you been eating low fat foods thinking they’re healthy and designed to help you lose the last 10 pounds?
Here are some simple rules to help you clean up your diet:
• How many names are listed on the ingredients? The lower the number of items listed, the better it is for you.
• Can you remove condiments from your diet for a short period of time? Eliminate ketchup (which I call tomato flavoured sugar), eliminate mayonnaise, get rid of salad dressings. Eliminate soy sauce from your rice.
• What are you drinking? you can also visit at www.answer-service.com, At this point, your goal of 10 pounds to lose would include a very substantial change in fluids. An increase in water consumption and a removal of all other fluids such as juices or other non-nutritional beverages will assist with the last 10 pounds to lose.
The longer you are awake, the longer your body is burning calories and the more time you have to ingest and burn the 5 or 6 meals required. Eating every 3 hours for 5 meals requires starting at 6 am and eating last meal at 6 PM for example. For men, eating another meal at 9 pm.
If you are really trying to lose the last 10 pounds, remember that it should always be considered easy. If you tell yourself it’s easy and your mind knows that you think it’s easy that it becomes easy. You are what you think. What you focus on expands. Your mind cannot tell the difference between what you think is real and what is real, so know in your heart and mind that the last 10 pounds to lose is easy. Clean up your diet, improve what you drink for fluids, spend more time awake and make sure you stay active.

How can I lose weight?
Before I start I just want to say that I’m not looking for criticism or for any immature kids to poke fun. I need mature, to the point answers from people who know.
I’m 17, female, 5’9" and overweight…not terribly, but I would definitely not say I was near skinny. Last January I went on a diet and lost 10 pounds but quit by Feb because I just couldn’t stand it anymore…the pressure of constantly having to worry about what I’m going to eat and exercising, and seeing all my skinny friends eat and do whatever they want and have it not affect them. It isn’t fair and I just gave in, went back to my normal eating habits, and stopped exercising. I do a competitive dance team and that’s 2 days a week, but it clearly isn’t enough to keep the weight off because I gained back the 10 pounds plus 6 more since then. So, my New Year’s Resolution (as pretty much the majority of people’s are!) is to lose weight…a lot of it. I need to lose at least 30 pounds to be at an ideal weight, at least for my personal reasons.
SO I’ve done this before so I kind of know what I’m doing…but last time I got sooooooo sick of eating the same foods every single day…fat free yogurt for breakfast with two huge glasses of water…turkey (no bread) and two pieces of fruit or occasionally a 100 calorie pack…dinner was usually plain tuna or a small bowl of veggie soup or fruit and what not. Snacks were something like a granola bar or a banana or something like that. Sounds decent when you read it I guess, but after a month of eating that I never ever wanted to see any of that food again. I am still dreading just the thought of it…but I have to do it. I’m sick of being the chubby friend and being the butt of jokes. (well, my weight never becomes a topic of discussion until I’m in a fight with someone…then they call me fat. the truth comes out when you’re mad at someone I guess) For workouts I usually do about 20 minutes of crunches, lunges, leg lifts, small weight lifting, etc and then 30 minutes on the elliptical switching from high power to low power intervals or just 15 minutes on the treadmill (about 1.2 miles). Mind you that I still live with my parents and have older brothers that constantly bring friends to the house and go into the basement where I usually do my workouts so it’s always such a task just to sneak down there and pray that they don’t come down and make fun of the fat girl running on the treadmill
I need someone who KNOWS and has gone through the same thing I am to just help me out…tell me what I can do to make the weight come off, give me tips on nutrition and possible things to eat that are HEALTHY, and some good exercising tips as well.
Your advice is greatly appreciated…any little bit will matter so PLEASE just help me…I don’t want to be fat anymore.
Some advice – remember that the weight did not appear overnight; it took time for it to be part of you; likewise it will take time for you to get rid of it. Also, the thing to do is eat about six small meals (more like snacks than all out meals) throughout the day; that way you are not hungry to the point of blowing the weight loss "program". Can the door to the basement be locked or barred in some way to give you privacy ?? If not, then wear some headphones and listen to music you like to drown out the possible rude friends, if they go down to the basement. I prefer a "big girl" myself, but if you are not comfortable, then do it for you and no one else :]

Honestly I think you should go back to that old diet, for a little bit
If you got results like that, just try it
I know you dont like it but its the best you can get;
Instead of eating that little, when your done eating (and digesting)
Go on the tredmill to work off the calories you ate so its like you never ate it
Maybe try doing one month of eating like that,
Next month stop eating whatever you dont like but dont pig out and eat fatty foods(keep it easy)
Then go on the tredmill everytime your finished eating a fatty/greasy meal
Then the next month do the diet again
And see how your results are doing
Good luck!(:

I hear you. I have to restrict foods because of type 2 diabetes. I have to face a blood sugar number each am. I have to journal my carbs, not calories but it comes down to a similar thing. It is deadly seriously for me. I have to say one secret I have learned is to walk a mile daily. am and pm. It moves things in your blood, and stimulates your metabolism. This is a big big deal. I am now considering curves or a fitness place. I also pray about it, because I have to ask for help from God. He does help me! So increase your prayer time and worship, increase walking and food journal counting carbs and calories. 75 carbs a meal only. GL

You need to change your mind set. You see, I became cripple about 5 years ago, and I was simply overweight then. While being cripple, I gained a lot of weight due to emotional eating in being depressed about being cripple, being over weight and really having no means of alleviating and counteracting my climbing poundage.
I have to do several things, especially seeing as I had struggled with my weight before this, I really had something of a war to win when I became not only severely overweight, but obese. Upon embarking on this, I have lost more than 150lbs. healthily and approved by my doctor- I fashioned this myself.
The first thing I did- I made what I was fighting for, my reasons for losing weight more important than the impulsive feeling of putting the food in my mouth. YES, it tastes good, the endorphins it released in me made me feel great, eating food is a wonderful experience. I love to cook, as well, and it was hard, but I looked at the long term effects of my being heavy- the health risks I faced, as my father got diabetes from being overweight, my grandfather on my mothers side faced BAD heart problems, his wife, my grandmother has digestive problems- the family ties for risks go on. My risks were my knees, and the doom of these terrible health issues.
What did I want to do in the future that being heavy was preventing?
-being in relationships
-traveling
I had to resolve that my ambitions were tenfold more important that what I was eating. I then realized I need to eat to live, not live to eat, but I also believed that food was a social pallet, thus why I cook as well, so I looked at major things I could do to enjoy the social aspect of food, as well as the taste factor while making it healthy. I started cooking with healthier oils and cutting the use of butter and cheeses. I ate a large variety of vegetables and fruits in several ways to keep it from getting boring.
By that, I started feeling better, but I noticed, I still met with some other issues- fatigue, tiredness, indigestion, diarrhea, gas. Though I was feeling better, I researched why that might be. I hypothesized it could be the amount of meat I was eating, so I decided to go without meat for a while, supplementing beans and fish (fish on occasion) for the large amount of meat I would eat. I almost immediately felt better, and resolved to adhere to a pesco-vegetarian lifestyle (not diet, life style, as I came to believe that feeling better was more important to me than whether or not I would eat meat). I still had a tiredness I was facing, and then I started to identify a headache and what was almost a flu-like symptom in the morning- stuffy head, blurry eyes. Upon researching a bit more, and talking to my doctor, I decided to try not eating wheat to see if it made a difference (and I was a major wheat eater, loved bread). By this time, I already had about a 50 lbs. loss in about 4 months, safely and controlled by my doctor, as well. When I cut the wheat, supplementing bread with more potatoes, rice flour based breads and pastas, etc, I felt great, energetic, less tired…
I have stuck to this, simply listening to my body, and the guidelines I established myself, and I have since lost 150lbs. I feel better, my knee, though injured is feeling better- and really, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I didn’t follow a diet, I was in charge of this. I told myself to do this, not my doctor, or someone else, and I listened to myself. You don’t have to eat the same things to be healthy, go for a variety, get creative, and if you cant, research ways you can keep it lively so you aren’t jealous of the jelly filled doughnut your skinny friends are gorging on. You also shouldn’t just adhere to a typical eating schedule. listen to your body- it will tell you what you need. If you are willing to do some work to understand, your life will change, and your entire future will be brighter for it, and longer, too. Your skinny friends who eat whatever they want- one day, they wont be so active, and not knowing their body, not understanding what needs to happen- they wont be able to recover from letting themselves go for a while. all people need to eat healthy, despite size or shape, it always makes a difference.

experience from 150lbs. lost
You gave lots of information there ok I’ll try to share my knowledge
I’ve tried many different diets and they work but as you know not for long, as soon as you stop diet you gain all those kgs with a bit extra.

Best way to loose weight in my opinion is calorie counting, but you have to understand that results wont come very quickly unless you go drastically low( not recommended). I found really good website which basically gives you a rough idea of daily calories intake for you which is based on your goals for example if you wanna lose lets say 5 kg in a month depending on your height and weight and activity it will tell you amount of calories you should get everyday to reach your desired weight in month or week etc. Its free to sign up for basic version which is more than enough. http://www.fridgegraph.com/
This keeps me motivated.
Another thing your new years resolution is great but its not clear, what I mean is that you did not set a clear deadline or weight which is your goal . It would make things easier if you set REALISTIC goal. Ex to lose 5 kg in month. You also should think of award for yourself if you manage to reach goal. And few rules which should help you lose weight. To give you an idea heres my plan
My goal was to lose 10 kg in 3 months award – beach holiday. I picked beach holiday because I knew that if I wont lose weight I wont look good in bikini.
Rules :
1)Do not buy any new clothes unless they are smaller size and fits me for those 3 months. That worked well, saved some money plus kept me motivated. theres no better feeling than realizing that old clothes are to big.
2) Eat only home made food( Because meals that are cooked at home are healthier, more filling and better, than processed food. of course you can always make some exceptions(birthdays or meal out) but no more than once a week.
when I’m talking about home made food that also includes sweets which are healthier than the ones you buy in shop plus letting yourself to have some treats make it easier to stay motivated
3) No microwave (same reason as above)
4) Do not go to shop everyday, it is easier say no to ben & jerrys or bounty once a week than everyday.
5) Do not eat in front of tv or computer.( when you concentrating on something else while you eating you tend to eat more because your brain is concentrated more on gossip girl rather than what you put in your mouth.)
6) Try to eat breakfast lunch and dinner at same time everyday( because your brain will know that you getting food regularly and will not store food in your body. )
When you look at these rules they are not really hard to follow but after a week you can notice the difference.
You also asked about food try to eat food which releases calories slowly.
Also dont be afraid of high calories items like porridge because it will give you feeling of being full for longer. Basically your breakfast should be the base of your all day menu because you gonna have whole day to burn those calories lunch should vary from day to day and dinner should be very light since you going to sleep and all food processing in your body slows down for the night.
Another very use full tip if you drink milk go for skimmed milk you hardly gonna notice the difference, same with sauces and so on.
Also steer clear from all diet snacks because most of them have same amount of calories than any other normal snack but it is smaller thats why they are lower in calories so always check calories information in the label for 100g and you will see that most of those Kellogg’s diet bars have same amount of calories like mars or twix
Hope that helped
